Map of HuiTengHe Project
Situated in the Xilingol league in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, The Huitengliang grassland belt is a very attractive location for wind farm development, with average wind speeds above 8.5 m/s at a height of 70m.
Han has secured a 188 km 2 land 70km south of Xilinhaote, along highway 207. This highway links Xilinhaote to Beijing, which is 400 km to the south. The site, spreading over the beautiful Mongolian grassland, presents optimum conditions for a wind farm:
- The land is flat with no trees nor buildings assuring a regular non turbulent wind. The local herders welcome the venue of the wind farm and will benefit from the additional local business which will develop.
- The close highway and railway are perfect for equipment transportation
- Two high voltage power transmission lines go through the site (220 kV and 500 kV), offering good power off-take opportunity.
Three 70m meteorological masts equipped with industry standard monitoring equipment have been installed on site to measure wind characteristics.
The measured data is being analyzed by HAN's technical team, using the latest software to assess the wind resource of the site, giving maximum security to the investment. Results will be confirmed, as necessary, by international wind experts.
